Blister In The Sun

Story

If you were in college in the 80s and cranked the Violent Femmes' debut album on your turntable at least once a week you were considered one of the cool kids in the dorm. And if you were one those kids, you're probably pissed that I'm calling Blister in the Sun a one-hit-wonder because that entire record was the definitive teen angst album of the decade - it was raw and totally not radio friendly and as far from synth pop as you could get. Plus, you could sing along to every track (even if you were tone deaf) and annoy the pants off your roommate (or your parents). Nonetheless, this track was the Femmes' biggest hit and only reached #20 on the charts in the US so technically it does qualify for my list. And if you don't like it you can go kiss off into the air...
