Story

Billboard called Let's Active "one of the more intriguing garage pop bands" and Every Word Means No a "quintessential gem", even though it was never a bonafide hit. The trio only had a trio of studio albums (possibly because frontman and songwriter Mitch Easter was two-timing them by producing records for another band who would go on to much more success; R.E.M.). They were unique for their time in that they weren't a synth-driven band, plus they had a female drummer Sara Romweber and bassist Faye Hunter, who sadly committed suicide in July 2013 a year before Easter and Romweber would reunite for a benefit performance in their home state of North Carolina. They may also go down in history as the only band to ever use the word "anathema" in a song...
