Looking at my OHW collection, some might think I have something against women...or Canada. Well, naysayers, here's a two-fer! Martha & The Muffins barely made an impression in the US, but in 2005, "Echo Beach" was named the 35th greatest Canadian song of all time on the CBC Radio One series 50 Tracks: The Canadian Version.  It only reached #37 on the US charts, but you'll still find this track on many 80s compilations and once you hear it you'll know why. It's darn catchy! M+M (as they were later known) have been around since 1977 with mainstays Martha Johnson on keyboards and vocals and Mark Gane on guitar, and despite this one semi-hit, their longevity in their native land is pretty impressive...
