From the recording 80s ONE-HIT WONDERAMA

This week, I had to go with the obvious choice since yesterday was Cinco de Mayo and today this song is still one of the most recognizable OHWs of the 80s (even though it only reached #58 on the US charts). Perhaps Wall of Voodoo became a victim of its own quirkiness and the band started to splinter after they appeared at the second US Festival on May 28, 1983 (the largest concert the band had performed). Stan Ridgway, Joe Nanini and Bill Noland all left the band to embark on solo careers, although incarnations of WoV carried the torch with various members slipping in and out of the lineup, even as recently as 2006 when a Ridgeway-led incarnation opened for Cyndia Lauper. Ole!
