Scritti Politti's Cupid & Psyche 85 album got a lot of spin time on my turntable, which is why I would've sworn this song was a bigger hit than it was (peaking at #11 in the US). After all, it was a nightclub staple (at least the ones I went to) since it precisely captured the synth-happy British pop sound of the decade. Green Gartside's wispy vocals did make me go a bit crazy on the dance floor, even though I still don't full comprehend his lyrics - "you wanna margin of error for two" - ???
